This blog is written by me, Calista Carter. I’m a technology consultant. Most of my clients are non-profits and most of my work (these days) is Salesforce.com migrations (from other CRM platforms) and customizations. I’ve been working with Non Profits since 2001 and have worked as a consultant, development director, board member and volunteer. I feel very fortunate to have a career that combines two sectors (IT and Non Profit) that are constantly reinventing themselves and where people are passionate and generally love what they do.
I work remotely, which means I get to live in a beautiful, uncrowded place and have great work flexibility – but I sometimes miss the office camaraderie and birthday cakes. I have an amazing team of co-workers and enjoy meeting other like-minded people through all the usual social and professional channels (and at Dreamforce of course). When I’m not working, I’m focused (or trying to be) on my role as Mom of two above-average children. I also like to ski, hike, road trip and camp with my husband and family. I took the blog-header photo through the windshield on one of our recent trips across the great state of Idaho. It’s nice that you can’t see all the bug smears.
I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m probably the most frequent visitor to this blog. I’m not looking for glory, advertisers or hundreds of followers, but I’m glad you’re here if any of this is helpful to you. I started writing it (and continue to use it) as a way to keep notes and useful bits of knowledge all in one place. And then I figured, if it was useful to me, it might be helpful to someone else too. So, in the collaborative spirit of the non-profit technology world…. here are my tips, tricks, random thoughts and musings.
